Christina dreamed up the idea for Farmgirl Flowers in 2010 after gaining experience across a variety of industries including hospitality and event planning. Although she loves beautiful flowers, the top of her bucket list was always to start a business that was not only innovative and creative, but one that did something good in the world. After researching the huge floral industry, she found a tremendous amount of problems and very little innovation. She set her sites on figuring out ways to solve the all of the problems while providing a better product and customer experience – which is how she came up with Farmgirl’s transformative new model.
By offering one daily arrangement™ made of 100% American Grown flowers, Farmgirl Flowers minimizes flower waste by 40%, while providing designer quality arrangements at generic e-commerce prices – and it does all this while supporting American flower farmers. Christina created a strong, authentic brand in her trademarked burlap wrapped bouquets™ made of recycled coffee sacks – which allows Farmgirl to not only differentiate the origin of their flowers, but creates solid brand identity as well. Farmgirl now delivers nationally, which was always her intent – to build a national brand that provided a socially conscious, better alternative to traditional e-commerce flower companies.
Christina is driven not only to to provide the absolute best customer experience possible, but to also build her company and brand based on integrity and doing what’s right for her consumers, team, and the environment.
Christina grew up on a farm in northern Indiana, which is how the company found its name, although it was corn and soybeans and, unfortunately, not beautiful flowers!
