Steven Yan is the vice president and general manager of Outbound by Zendesk, customer intelligence software built for targeted campaigns and proactive engagement. After joining Zendesk in 2009, he oversaw the launch of Zendesk’s mobile agent apps across all major smartphone platforms, used by 60,000 support agents in over 120 countries. As an early product manager, he oversaw the expansion of Zendesk’s developer platform, mobile app development, and integration with major SaaS partners. As part of Zendesk’s contributions to San Francisco’s mid-Market neighborhood, he is working closely with the Tenderloin Technology Lab to build a mobile resource platform that centralizes and improves accessibility to the city’s public food, medical, and housing resources.
Prior to Zendesk, Steven spent seven years at Trend Micro as a software engineer building enterprise messaging security products. Steven holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Harvey Mudd College and is earning his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
