Marissa is an experienced Founder with a demonstrated history of working in the creative education industry. Her entrepreneurial journey started through the Nation Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), she competed in Business Plan competitions at Stanford, and throughout the Bay Area during high school. Though a community project she created to teach Fashion drawing, she started to see a common occurrence happening with her students lack of confidence in math, and through this problem, she wanted to find a creative solution to teach math in a relatable way – using Fashion as an outlet. Since her first workshops, she created Maker Studio SF which has expanded from a Brick and Mortar location in Ghirardelli Square, to now partnering with schools to provide their Creative Technologist programs for kids. Students get to explore relatable topics in a fun and engaging way through our Design Engineering and Fashion Engineering topics.
