Human-Centered AI Strategist

Chris is a scholar-practitioner and entrepreneur working at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and education. At Lean Startup, he serves as a Human-centered AI Strategist, helping organizations build AI systems that increase trust, empathy, and human flourishing. With two decades of experience applying AI to complex problems, Chris most recently led AI strategy at a Fortune 50 healthcare organization, personally training over 15,000 associates on AI fluency and responsible adoption.

At Columbia University, Chris teaches graduate courses in AI Strategy and Digital Transformation, equipping future leaders to navigate uncertainty and unlock transformational impact. He collaborates with nonprofits to expand digital health literacy and has been featured on The Lean AI Podcast with Eric Ries. Known for his visionary thinking and collaborative approach, Chris connects people to powerful ideas through storytelling and facilitation, bringing complex systems to life with clarity and catalytic innovation. 

Chris holds a Master’s degree in Information & Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University and began his AI focus as a Computer Science undergraduate. Originally from Kentucky with six transformative years in New York City, he’s the proud father of four young children and a frequent traveler to Mexico. In 2015, he donated a kidney to a close friend, a profound experience that deepened his appreciation for vulnerability and connection.
