Molly Cain is the Director of Venture for the Department of Homeland Security. In this role, she serves as the bridge connecting the venture capital, academia, Fortune 500 and startup ecosystems, with federal executives looking toward innovative approaches and solutions as they modernize and prepare for tomorrow. Molly’s responsibilities span the innovation ecosystem within the traditional workplace — working closely with executives to identify problems statements and mission needs, designing innovation tours for leaders to see “art of the possible” up close and across the nation, and maintains a close watch on venture and private sector trends to ensure today’s organization is planning for tomorrow’s challenges. Molly joined Homeland Security in 2016 after spending the previous four years as an entrepreneur by founding two startups, becoming an angel investor and most notably, serving two years as Executive Director of one of the top startup accelerators in the nation, as ranked by Inc. Magazine in 2015. Her work in accelerators led to being recognized as one of the top 25 Women in Technology in Dallas in 2016.
