Steve Ma is a social entrepreneur who led the team that build Revolution English, a profitable and free service that teaches English to more than 500,000 students. He helped to incubate PushBlack, a digital media and advocacy organization that reaches more than 2 million people. Steve also co-authored a Stanford Social Innovation Review article on Lean Experimentation in the social sector, produced an award-winning documentary, and founded a number of successful organizations. In 2001, Steve literally walked 1,523 miles to activate people around a campaign to reduce big money’s influence over the political process. AsianWeek named Steve their Asian-American of the Year in recognition of his walk and his efforts sparked the passage of an important “clean elections” law.
